On behalf of the Germantown High School Alumni it gives me great pleasure to serve as President of The Germantown High School Alumni Association, Inc. which was re-established in 2003. We have a rich history of alumni, many who have greatly contributed to our society and community both locally and nationally going back as far as 1944.
The mission of the GHSAA is to foster and strengthen the relationship between Germantown High School, its alumni and friends; to preserve and promote the High School’s traditions, purposes, growth and alumni; and to keep alive the spirit of affection and reverence for our alma mater.
Our motto is "We talked the talk; it's time to walk the walk." GHSAA is dedicated to its school and students, making Germantown High School "a better place to learn". So much has changed within the school district since many of us graduated. Some schools are lacking the resources to better educate the students.
In December 2006, the association started a major project, “The Library Project” tm. in response to the tremendous need to upgrade Germantown High’s library to meet state standards. Our plan includes a complete renovation of our Alma Mata’s library and to equip it with state of the art technology to give the present students who are our future alumni something they will be proud of and will cherish.
Together we can develop and implement ideas to help our alma mater by living our motto. We have the opportunity to make a difference for our future alumni. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Our village is the students and community of Germantown High School.
The Board of Directors of GHSAA meet on an ongoing basis to continue planning and implementing to reach our goal. We invite you to join us on the second Tuesday of each month for our general membership meetings. (See website for time and location).
Moving forward with this school year, GHSAA has plans to continue with our fund raising efforts for the library project and other concerns. We are planning an “All Germantown High School Alumni Class Reunion” on November 21, 2007 in the school’s gymnasium. All Germantown High School graduates and friends are invited. Further details will be available on the website.
